- Are committed to a career in health care as indicated by your efforts to provide a high quality of care and to seek out new information and training that will enable you to provide this care
- Apply high moral and ethical values to daily tasks of care and have a kind sense-of-humor
- Demonstrate consistency by remaining in the health care setting over an extended period of time
- Demonstrate good work habits. Carry out daily tasks in a conscientious manner, apply yourself to the task at hand and with attention to Residents' Rights and safety
- Take the initiative to serve on care-planning committees, safety committee, local nursing assistant related organizations or other groups.
- Display characteristics of an effective team member; assists and encourage peers
What we believe
"We believe that the residents in nursing homes and other long term care settings deserve courteous and appropriate care, and that the workers who provide 90% of this direct-care, the Nursing Assistants, deserve realistic assignments, appropriate training and supervision, recognition of effort and a work environment which provides the support and supplies needed in order to perform tasks of care."
