The National Network of Career Nursing Assistants Celebrating the Great American Caregiver � National Nursing Assistants Week � June 12-19, 2003Career Nursing Assistants Day June 12, 2003 Celebrating 26 years of service by, for and with nursing assistants Retaining good workers is important to good care. National Nursing Assistants Week is a special time to focus on, and honor the nursing assistants who provide daily care and caring to our elders and long term care residents in nursing homes, home care and other long term care settings. The annual event is observed across the country by thousands of nursing homes, home care agencies, professional organizations coming together to honor nursing assistants who provide as much as 90% of hands on care in long term care. The Ohio program in 2002 was attended by more than 450 nursing assistants, administrators, DONs, inservice personnel and others.
