Thank you for writing. No, there is no problem with you showing up on this message board. We are always happy when people like you are interested in health careers.

Maybe you will hear from some of our members about what they do when providing care. I will send you an email with links you can use to find the Occupational Handbook definitions of NAs as well as other things.

You can find a great deal about what NAs do by crusing around in this web site. You might want to print off a few pages and take into your class. BE sure to go to the pages marked "New NA FAQ" - this tells you about training, testing and related areas and you can find the address of your States Nurse Aide Training Program as well as links to testing places - here you will find details about specific tasks performed by NAs.

You asked about salaries and this varies depending on the part of the country you live in. In general, RNs today may make between $20-30/hr. LPNs may make $13-18/hr and Nursing assistants anywhere between $6-15/hr.

One thing stands out for health care workers - they are people persons - they like the people they care for and get a great deal out of helping others.

Hope this is helpful to you. Keep in touch and best of luck with your class.
