I am so frustrated, cant sleep for what has been going on at the nursing home i have worked at for 2 yrs.We get no respect from the administrator, we are so short staffed, I was the only one on the floor for over an hour yesterday until another aid came in ( 29 residents to care for)she likes to disapear alot, I was ready to hane a breakdown.If it wasnt for the residents I would have walked out.We have an administrator who struts around in tight skirts and high heels and wants to know why a bed hasnt been made,(one aid told her she needed to hire more help in and not worry about an unmade bed, she turned around and walked off and said nothing to the aid) 1st. shift is staying over to help 2nd shift,because there is not enough aids.Our A.D.O.N is leaving in 2 weeks and since then it has just gotten worse. Excellent aids are crying and wlaking out from the frustration,we had a resident escape from our 3rd. floor, out the window!! Fell to his death!Aids that put in 16 hour shifts, never call off and get a 15 cent raise out of 25 cents!There are a few of us on my second shift that is calling for a meeting with the administrtor this week to talk to her about the treatment we are getting and that we believe we are entitiled to timely and decent raises or we are putting in our 2 weeks notice, we dont want to do it but they have us backed against a wall. They just dont care about us or the residents, And we are just sick of the way we are all treated.We cant give the care that the elderly are entitled to, its time that residents families should know just how some of these homes are run.
