not to mention, we hold their hand when they are dying cuz no one comes to see them.
Yeah, I call my residents sweetheart and that's becuz of something that Government regs don understand...LOVE.
I tell my "folks" that the weatherman said it was going to snow, rain, be sunny even tho they may not know what is going on, cuz they deserve to know what IS happening in the world.
I treat my residents like FRIENDS cuz you do not work with these folks for years and not think of them as nothing else.
I've been bruised, cut, bitten (that was real fun) cussed at, spit on, peed on, puked on pooped on, hit, scratched, glared at, and then I was told, "I love you".
Yeah, girlfriend, it is hard to be a tech, but when the times comes for someone to care and you belly up to the task and turn that resident, dry them and clean them and there are no break downs and they drift slowly back off to sleep, then it's all gravy on the plate.
