How many of you work in facilities which are so badly maintained as far as the building its self? I am so suprised that the state never does anything each year they come in only make the facility write a written plan of action for violations. The place I work in has water dripping from the ceillings, only some rooms have air and others do not. The screens are torn up so you can't even open there windows. Sewer system is always over flowing and toilets constantly stopped up from this. Tiles missing all over on the floors. Nothing has ever been painted in the last 4years I have been there. Rusted door frames, mold built up all over, Chairs are all broken up, it is absolutely just terrible as far as the building goes. Our residents recieve great care from the staff, but it is so bad we even have insects that get in the residents beds at times. We are always told they are trying, but the owners will never allow them to fix the things that need to be done. I relize this is a really old building but it seems to me that they would have to maintain the upkeep of such facilities? |
