I work for a private nursing home, on a rehab unit in central NY. I just read an article that said that CNA's are paid $18.00/an hour in NY!!! I'd love to know which facility pays this much, because the RN's I work with don't make that! Well, anyway I make $8.40/an hour, plus applicable shift differentials, because I work 3-11. I am 17, have a 16 month old daughter and I love being a caregiver. I am planning on going to nursing school, for my RN.. but I will sorely miss the one-on-one care with "my" residents.
