There is an ongoing effort to organize a nursing demonstration in Washington as well as major cities or capitals of various states to bring to the attention of our legislators and to the public what staffing is really like in both hospitals and nursing homes. This effort started on a web site, www.allnurses.com and has grown. Please take a look there. You will need to register, then go to further discussion, then click on million nurse march discussion. There are many pages there, but you can get what is happening without going through all of it, also see www.mnm.bigstep.com, it is a temp. site while the main site www.millionnursemarch.com is under construction. It is coming along nicely. As not one nursing home in this country would function without CNAs we need you to come out for this! Let the public know what is expected, how the expectations are basicly unrealistic with the staffing levels, and let them know how important you are in the care of the elderly in this country. It is time that they were aware that the vast majority of CNAs are not what they see on dateline. Anyone wanting further info please email me at [email protected]. Let me know where you are, and what is happening in your place of employment. The public has to know and our legislators have to wake up! The goal of the million nurse march is to bring awareness of staffing and the use of mandatory overtime and how dangerous that is. And we want all caregivers regardless of the initials behind their names to join us. Thank you.
