Hello everyone! I am doing a research paper on the
causes of C.N.A. turnover in long-term care facilities.
I worked in a nursing home for two years, although not
in nursing, but was very close friends with many C.N.A.'s
and became aware of the problems and frustrations they
face everyday. My research is on ways to improve a
"pretend" nursing home's turnover rate among C.N.A.'s.
I say "pretend" because I am basing it loosely on the
same nursing home I worked for.

Anyway, what I would like to know from those of you in
the field is:
1. what are your greatest frustrations on the job,
2. why and how do you get burned-out,
3. does the treatment and perceptions from other
nursing staff weigh on your decision to leave a
facility,
4. whether you think there are certain people who just
should not be a nurse assistant,
5. how could your current place of employment prevent
you from quitting to go to work at a better paying
facility (what kind of incentives could you be
offered to stay?)

Please don't hold anything back. I want to know how you
really feel and why. I took several years to decide
what I want to do with my life, and made the decision
to go to college to be a nursing home administrator.
Now that I am on my way, this research project will really
be useful to me, not only to earn a grade, but to help
in the real world when I finally get there!!

Thank you so much,
Paula
