After what I've been through, I stopped playing games with my health,
I would more less here in TEXAS say I won't work for a for Profit NH unless I know the pay rate is up to par and the min staffing levels are in effect.
If they are not in effect, I would rather just work in HOSPICE care, as a CNA
visit the Nursing homes, do my residents, bathe then, feed them if needed, etc.
and I make sure I visit a site called Care scout to determine what nursing home I would work in.
Of course, this is not always justified, but, it helps make the decision. Also, Now I want to know more about what the nursing home offers for NCNS
or call in, such as calling in per diem to help,
or Agency.
I guess it's enough to say, Nursing assistants work so short 90% of the time, and stress level is always there,
I understand this, but in reality, It's hardly not necessary to work short.
After being away from the Nursing homes for 3 years, I came back to it to see nothing at all has changed.
Personally, I can't be all that happy anymore working in this environment, if I know deep inside I am not giving the care I think the resident deserves.
