: I am a Male CNA at a Nursing Home in Brookhaven Mississippi. I am the only male! The uniform that the home has for us to wear is Bright Purple! Keep in mind that I am a GUY. I get all sorts of weird looks when I go to town in my uniform because it is Purple. So I went to our D.O.N and asked her is I could get a different color other than Purple (you know more of a real mans color) So SHe talked it over with the board and they are getting me Carabean-Blue(however you spell it?) anyway now some of the Female CNA's are mouthing off about it! WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT IT?

Dear Jay: I am the president of the Certified Nursing Assistant Association of Georgia.Inc.After 47 years as a CNA,I am now retired. I know how you feel. You see 40 years ago,I wanted to be a male nurse,and everyone stared at me as if I was crazy.You should have heard the whisper around the hospital,especially from the Aides and RN's " Is he gay? and people are still asking,why would he want to be nursing assistant? I became a CNA in response o G0d's love for human needes,caring for the elderly,the sick,and the infirm. There is nothing more important to me than the Residents that are in the nursing homes.Most of the women have been listening to James Brown,talkin about "This is a mans world" This is God's World,and He disire love and respect from every one No matter wha color our uniform may be, just remember,you are a caregiver,and you are qualified to do the job you were trained and hired to do.being the the female CNA's can not get together,do not mean we male can't.
