I am a CNA and work in Washington State, I got my certification in Idaho, and they pay the same as the Federal Minimum wage, which I believe is about 5.75 a hour? (don't quote me on that) but anyhow, Washington State's Minimum wage is $6.50 a hour, I am in a position of hiring CNA's and consulted with the businesses accountant, and he said, that being State Minimum wage is $6.50 a hour and Federal is lower, what a employeer can pay is the highest of those two, so if your state's minimum wage is higher than the federal, they should be paying you that...call your labor and industries dept. and present your question to them. Hope I was of some help...Good Luck to you..

Dani..
