: I ONLY MAKE 5.45 HR - and thats for 1st shift! Is This Right? Is mississippi the lowest payed state?
: I mean when it come to CNA
I too am a male CNA.However, after 47 years,I am now retired. At present I am the President of the Certified Nursing Assistant Association of Georgia,Inc. I thought Georgia was the worse state in the union that pays the lowest for NA's.Here in Fairburn they make from $8.00 to $10,00 an hour. But even at $15.00 or $2.00 an hour would not be to much for a qualified CNA. Just think, when I first enter into this field I was making $1.25 an hour and I did not have the overload of work that CNA's are now having. We go more respect and support back then, and the teamwork was great.Even the families were more supportive. Please don't give up.We need more good men in this beautiful field. Most of the male CNA's we now have are mostly sex pots, and have become a disgrace to the profession. Have no fear my Dear Brother and continue to hold your your head high.It will not be long before we will have our day. There are many organizations out there that are in our now fighting for us,so continue to hold on. It is our elderly residents that are suffering, and I don't understand how these administrators and owners can live with themselves. It seems to me that that the employers should be long sighter enough to see it would certainly save them in the long run:cost of having to retain and recruit new employees and high turnovers. Employees who are happier will do better quality work, and ther will be less absenteeism.and they will stay with the company longer. You see my dear brother the CNA shortage has a human and economic impact on the care they provide. Poor working conditions in the nursing homes lower the morale of the CNA and lessen the ability to provide quality care. This causes a higher level of stress on the job. The results on incident verbal/physical abuse to resident escalate. Resident neglect results in high cost acu cae of infections. dehtdration, bedsores.and pheumonia. Now you can see that this account for the large number of complaints on abuse and neglect in the the Long Term Health Care System. This information points to the needs of recruiting qualified caregivers(CNA's,and if these issues are addressed, improvements in qyality of life and quality of care will benefit staff as well as the residents. please address any comments to Roberto E.Taloria,CNA/RA,President,CNAAOG**235 Bay Street**Fairburn,Georgia 39213 Phone 770-964-7274.
