Min wage, for the hard work, back breaking work we do,
forces people who make 5:15 an hour or 5.25 an hour
to work many doubles. some have to work 7 days a week to make ends meet
600.00 or 700.00 a month does not cut the cost of bills.
utilities, car, etc., and in one case a Nursing home I am familiar with has cut off their medical, but is still taking it out of paychecks. (altugh at this time, ) this is in the works of being fixed. but many have had PAYMENT denied. if hospitalized, etc., while the transition took over.
Nursing homes, such as the type I work for, are
the lowest paid, and turnover is daily, up to 4 or more call ins as shift.
Today, shipment of supplies, such as diapers, did not come,
residents had no diapers.
There is so many things wrong and decubitus is getting to stage 3, and some residents are suffering severe yeast infections.
I work a heavy lifting hall,. I do up to 16 vitals a day, plus showers, up and down
(6 am to 2 pm)
up down up down,
Thre is no need for this. low pay rate.
BUT WE ALL KNOW, this nursing home is staffed with UNCERTIFIED employees.
They hire them, put them on the floor, and wait for classes.
at 5.25 an hour, YES, we are getting young people, some of them 17 years old.
They are working thru the breaks, etc.
uncertified.
THE STATE OF TEXAS, needs to revise this
and put their foot down.
Unfortunately, this lady, has my heart, because right now, I can see so many of our willing employees, being shafted in our Nursing home, by this, it's un real.
God rest her childs soul and may God be with the family to brighter days
