Met you at the MAHEC conference in October - I am a NA staff educator at our hospital. High Point Regional is very supportive of Nursing Assistants and I am looking for information on career ladders, as we want to develop one in our facility for our career Nursing Assistants. Currently, we have an NA Excellence Program that recognizes 10 NAs a year but we really need to expand our programs... . Also, for NA week our hospital is sponsoring a "Community" NA Day at our education center (hope for 75 participants) on June 3rd.. NAs from home health, hospice, LTC, etc. in the commmunity are invited for a nominal fee. If you have any suggestions for a speaker/topics (including if you would like to speak), please let me know. Our local district Nurses Association has agreed to assist with financial backing. In addition, our Director of Nursing is the president-elect of the North Carolina Nurses Association and if there is anything you would like me to share with her, let me know.
