I don't know much about private work over there in the U.S. Yesterday I saw several ads in the local paper for CNA's to work for organizations who look after brain injured clients in their own home. The only requirement was for the CNA to have their certificate. Here, in Australia, I am fairly sure that there is no necessity to keep taking courses to update the certificate or if it is time limited.
