: Hi, I am working on a research paper regarding the need to decrease CNA turnover. Why do CNAs leave their jobs ( and where do they go?) My focus is LTC/nursing homes. Thank you all for any input.
I think Connie and Patti said it all. I'm one of the NAC's that went from nursing home to hospital. No I do not get the respect at the hospital. That 'Just an NAC' attitude again. I stay cause the pay is better and since I work nights the work load a little eaiser.
I worked 13 years in long term care. It was a nightmare!! Always understaffed. Eight to twelve rooms per aide with 3 to 4 residents per room! At one point I weight about 145lbs and was doing full body lifts on a 6'2" man who weight 160lbs.
Will any of what we are talking about here ever be on the 6 O'clock news?! Hell no!!
