I work in Tennessee. We ,of course, work short all
the time. Everyday, every shift.After a while it getts to you. It is aamaazing to me that the management thinks
it is okay. And after awhile I come to the realization that it doesn't bother them because they couldn't care
less. The only thing they care aabout is the paperwork. They don't care if those people get taken
care of or not. Patient care does not matter as long as everything is documented and charted and everything
is right for medicaid---they get paid for it. Personally, I thought that was what they went to nursing school for and it makes me sick to see the way things are. I thoght thaat was why we were all there ....that's what they always say at inservices, meetings etc ...we the CNA's might be , but those nurses couldn't care less.
We have 11 paper pushers (4 LPNs 5RNs and 2 unit secretarys) and 16 aaides on day shift. Gget out the calculator aand figure out where all the money is going
certainly not in patient care and if I were a family member I pying for mom to stay theree what would I think? Any thoughts...Sue
