Hi-
What a situation you are descibing. Sounds all
too familiar. Nurses aides are coming of age so
to speak- and Jeni's advice about getting in
touch with her is best. Do you have computer
access- or do the aides?
If not- there are little things you can do to
show your appreciation. You could get a bunch of
little glittery bags and fill them with confetti
and computer made "certificates"- each CNA MUST
have something they are good at? Put a little
candy bar and maybe a little angel pin in it too.
Get in touch with the editor of Journal Of
Nursing Assistants- he will send you free samples
of the journal- web site URL is:
http://junior.apk.net/~gannonr/journal.html
It's the little things that count. Once a month
pull a meal- with staff bringing in there own
foods- potluck...invite the residents to eat!
Form an after-work get together to discuss care
issues.
Network..
