: : Hi everyone...this message board has been a huge help to me in making the decision to become a CNA. I just completed the CNA course and will be taking the state board exam in AL next month. I am allowed to work while waiting on the exam and have just been hired at a nursing home/assisted living facility. I start next week. The pay is not good at all...but i want to gain the experience and then move on at a later date. I am scared to death going into this new career. We had 3 days of clinical in my training and i loved it. I think i have finally found myself. Any words of wisdome out there will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for everyone's help and support.

: Hi Cathy:
: Many of we CNA'S will agree you've made the correct choice!!! I love what I do. I work in Home Health and have done so for many years. I look at each case as a challenge and many of them are. My CNA instructor told my graduating class years ago: "I can teach the theory and clinicals, but I can't teach you this"....he pointed to his heart. I totally agree. Keep your good attitude and you'll do very well. You're going to do fine on the tests also.
