Dear Christina
Not to worry - you are the member not your facility. This is about your professional journey and your career advancement. Many facilities do workw with us and support our principals but this is not a prerequisite to your involvement.
There are many things you can do in your own facility, area, or state. We will be sending the Members Tasks Lists for 2002 and tips for care practices, group work and others. You also will be getting info for National Nursing Assistant Week June 6-13, 2002.
This will be our 25th anniversary and we are working on some really neat programs that you can use in your areas. You also may want to be on a committee for the NNCNA so you will meet folks from other states.
The NA Week Slogan Committee is almost done and their report is due soon. Committees are usually developed from the National Leadership Program and the National Forum, 9/30/01 in Arlington VA, but the NA Week committees begin in the Spring for the next year.
The Leadership program scheduled for 9/30 is cancelled because of the bombings. The larger NCCNHR program was also cancelled.
We will need to find other ways to get the word out about committee appointments for 01-02. So let me know if you are interested in working on a committee with others.
Some of the committees are as follows:
Advisory and Steering Committee
1. Internet Committee - We have some great people on this but it will become even more important in this next year.
2.Male NA Task Force
3. NA Authors Group
4. National Twenty Year Club and National Most
5. Service Years Awards
6. Special projects for NA Week
7. Recognition and Honors
8. National Forum
9. Liaisons to Direct Care Alliance and others
10.Eductation
11.Trainers Connection
12.Funding
and others.
I would be pleased to talk more with you about this or to send info - you can email your address privately to us at [email protected] and I will send you a list of committees
We are revising the web site and hopefully more of this should be up in the near future.
Thanks for a good question
