Kim,

If you will have completed 20 years as a NA by October, you can become a member of the National Twenty Year Club for NAs this year and recieve your certificate for NA Week June 7-14. It does nto cost anything to join and there are National Awards each year for most service years. You can find more info about the 20 year club on this site or email me at and I will send more info.

You are to be commmended for your steadfastness. We need you to be an example to others.

On behalf of residents in nursing homes who need the stability you and others provide, I thank you.

Genevieve Gipson, Director
National Network of Career Nursing Assistants
A professional organization for nursing assistants since 1977.

: I am a C.N.A in Houston,Tx have been a C.N.A.for 19 years and things sure have change a lot.I do work in a nursing home retirement home and their is a lot of stress and pressure.as we all know their is a nursing shortage all over the place.Texas nursing homes do not pay much for their help but they do expect more out of you then what they are willing to pay.I have always given over a 100% of hard physical work and have at times put my health at risk.I cannot stand to see a patient abuse or neglet. But with the nursing shortage the way it is the C.N.A.S and the residents are suffering not only with their daily care but their safety.patients are not getting their showers as schedule or other personal things done. Also have notice that their is a lack of activities to keep the residents busy where I work the residents do not go out on any outing which I do not think is good.their is also a lack of respect for what we do and it comes from the top as well as the other nurses.tired of being
: talk to any kind of way and as if I do not know anything.I am sure that their is a lot of you out their that can relate to what I am saying.I come home stress out and go to bed stress out.now that I am on vacation and getting over knee surgery I have had time to unwind and try to tell my self that I cannot change
: the things that are happen over their that I can only go in and do my best for the patients and make them happy and to try and pleasr the familys. Not their to please other co-workers.will add more later their is so much that i do have to say and I am sure that I speak for a lot of C.N.A.One place I worked they called
: us nurse techs.
