Just wanted to let you HARD WORKING, UNDERPAID, CNA's to know that you DONT just have to work in a nursing home. I worked in a nursing home for many years and finally broke free. I went from a small home to a HUGE medical university making over $2.more an hour. You need to check your local hospitals(which usually require you to be a CNA), or your Big teaching hospitals(universities(that DONT usually require you to be a CNA, and they are called something else, like patient care techs or care partners, or children specialty hospitals need you also!!!!!!
The ratio is lower also and you get to do more than wipe bottoms!! You can draw blood, do simple dressing changes, specimen collections, etc.
You can also use your CNA to work in an operating room or post surgery wing!!!!
YOU ARE NOT LIMITED TO JUST A NURSING HOME....CHECK IT OUT!!!
