I agree with Ellen. I, too, work for an Agency and my pay varies between $9.50 and up to $20.00...depending what my duties are. I also specialize in Alzheimer/Dementia/Parkinson care with a special license for that. I'm also certified as a Home Health Aide. The three initials have opened many doors for me. I encourage all you CNA'S to take the courses that become available to you. I like working for an Agency. They get very good referrals through Dr's and Hospitals and I don't mind them taking a %. They handle the payroll taxes, disability and workmen's compensation. I figured up what it would cost me if I went privately. It was more than the $5.00 per hour that the Agency gets!!!!!!!
