We as nurses, particularly us that have worked long term care, know the staffing issues. We are organizing a march that will take place in Washington, and major cities or capitals throughout the country. This is scheduled for May 5, nurses week. We have brought together our nursing associations, some have already stated support, others we are waiting on. We want all direct patient caregivers to participate, that includes CNAs, we want the public that has endured what shortstaffing has done to participate. Also see www.mnm.bigstep.com much there to see what we are planning and why. Tell your friends, tell your neighbors, tell your legislators what happened and why. Demand to be heard. I could tell horror stories out of nursing homes, and it is generally because of staffing.
