The NNCNA is your national organization for NAs, and we also are based in Ohio - this means we also do a lot in Ohio. Ohio is considering staffing legislation and Yes, we do need you to get involved. If you will email me your postal address privately, I will send you info about the proposed legislation. In addition, we need you to get involved with other NAs who are working on this issue.

: I work at a skilled nursing facility in Ohio and I was wondering if any one was formilar with the state staffing requirements for Ohio. We work must nights with 4 to 5 aides in house to 90-100 residents. That puts one down a wing and possibly one float. Tonight we had seven for the first time in 2 weeks, and we thought we had died on gone to heaven. I know with the nurses it isn't any better; 2-3 a night with 4 wings of 25 to cover. Our corperate just went pool free over 3 months ago and they promised that staffing would get better, but it hasn't. The staffing has got so bad that resident families have been calling the ombudsman. IS there anything we can do?????
