Hi Jeni, so many programs come and go due to facilities losing trainers or their certification for their training programs due to survey problems (findings of substandard care leading to civil money penalties of $5,000 or more result in automatic loss of NATP) it may be easier to post the contact information of all the state survey agencies on a webpage. They usually either are responsible for certifying NATPs or can direct callers to the state agency that is. I included a complete updated list of all the state survey agencies, addresses and phone numbers in Appendix I of my book, "Consumer Guide to Long-term Care." Let me know if you have anyone having trouble finding the right agency. (Be prepared to be transferred from one number or person to another in some states).

I called my local community college, and they can only tell me to call all of the nursing homes and see who is offering them! I'm in Indiana, and my goal is to be an RN when my son goes to school in five years. I want to start as a CNA now. Surely I don't really have to phone all of the nursing homes in the area to find a program?
