Hello,
I have heard some disturbing news regarding the role of the Pennsylvania CNA and CPR requirments...
What I have heard is that the Pennsylvania CNA is now NOT required to attend and keep current on their CPR certifications. Is this a mere rumor or is this a fact???
If indeed this is factual, I shudder to think what will occur with CNA's and their patient's in an "in-home" setting.
The source of this information is a Registered Nurse, working in a Home Health Agengcy. I, as a Care Coordinator and CNA/HHA supervisor, find this news alarming. It suggests that the CNA and his/her role, is innept to perform basic life saving skills.

Sincerely,
Deann Grasser.
