Dear Destiny
Yes, there is a place for humor in caring. Definately. The problem seems to be that people are not clear about the difference between kind and mean humor. This is something you can work on in your meetings. There also is a lot of reseach data about the value of humor in care.

We teach a class for nurses, trainers, supervisors, adminstrators, and NAs about using humor in the clincial setting. "Laughter is the biology of hope in action." I would be pleased to send info about this program to your DON or others who may benefit.

Dont stop smiling and laughing with your residents but - you do have a job to do to help others understand why this is important. Go for it girl

You can email our office privately with your DON name, facility and address
email to [email protected]

Or call us at 330-825-9342

Blessings
