Last week at one of our CNA meetings..management brought up that we all need to be more careful * joking* with residents..because someone can walk by the room and overhear and take it the wrong way. This upsets me. I do now and have always joked with the residents. They enjoy it and I think it makes them feel more at ease. If I can bring a smile to their face..I think its a good day!? These people respond to joking..( done tastefully of course)..laughter IS the best medicine. Can you imagine how depressing it would be in your own life if you never laughed? Good grief. If someone walks by and hears something, maybe they should snoop a bit longer and hear the laughter that follows. Maybe its me, I don't know, but my residents' actually look forward to seeing me and teasing ME!? LOL I'd love input as to what others' feel about this... |
